Short Links

Short links are Pinecast-hosted pages with short URLs that make it easy to share your show online. They have full analytics support, and integrate tightly with Pinecast.

Features

There are two types of short links: podcast and episode short links.

Podcast short links

You'll find the URL for these short links on the Overview tab of your podcast. They're perfect for promoting your show with all the information, SEO, and social optimization you need.

Short links for a podcast show the following information:

Podcast name, author, and subtitle (if set)
The podcast's description
A link to the show's homepage and RSS feed
If enabled and active, a link to the show's Pinecast tip jar
If enabled and the Growth Add-on is active, a link to the show's feedback page
If linked on the Distribution tab, a link to the show's Podchaser listing

Two main sections appear:

"Listen in an app", which lists apps that a listener can subscribe to the podcast through
"Latest episode", which shows a player for the latest podcast episode

Episode short links

You'll find the URL for these short links on the Overview tab of each of your episodes. This is the best way to quickly share your episode to social media.

Short links for an episode show the following information:

Episode title, podcast name, and episode subtitle (if set)
Show notes
A link to the episode on the show's website
If enabled and active, a link to the show's Pinecast tip jar
If enabled and the Growth Add-on is active, a link to the show's feedback page
If linked on the Distribution tab, a link to the show's Podchaser listing

Two main sections appear:

"Listen in an app", which lists apps that a listener can subscribe to the podcast through. Where possible, we attempt to deep-link to episodes on their respective platforms.
"Listen here", which shows a player for the episode

Setup

Getting started is easy: every podcast comes with Short Links enabled already. You'll find the link on the Overview tab of your podcast or episode dashboard under "Important links". Simply share the link any time you'd like to invite someone to listen to your show or subscribe.

To maximize the coverage of podcast directories within the short link, use the Distribution tab to link Pinecast to all of your directories. We recommend, at minimum, linking an Apple Podcasts listing.

Analytics

Analytics are available for short links. On the Analytics tab on your podcast, episode, and network dashboards, you'll find short link analytics views. Each chart has explanations of their content at the bottom of the view.

Disabling

If you'd like to disable short links for your podcast, visit the Settings > Short links tab on your dashboard to find the option to disable them.
