Color Scheme (Dark Mode)

Both a dark and light mode are available. Dark mode can be helpful for people who are sensitive to light. By default, Pinecast will use the appearance setting of your browser or operating system: if you have dark mode enabled on your phone, for instance, we'll enable dark mode by default.

A color scheme override is not available for users signing into the tip jar.

Choosing a color scheme preference

Choosing a color scheme is available on signed-in pages only. If you are on a page like the login page, your operating system or browser's dark mode setting will be used.

To change your color scheme, visit the Settings page in your main dashboard. Under the color scheme option, you'll have three choices:

Light mode (always prefers light mode)
Dark mode (always prefers dark mode)
System default (the default; always prefers your system color scheme)

If your operating system changes from light mode to dark mode on a schedule, and you'd prefer Pinecast to observe that preference, use System Default.

This setting is stored in your browser, not on your Pinecast account. Every new browser or device that you sign in with will keep its own copy of the setting.

Forced colors and other color schemes

If your browser or operating system uses forced colors (for instance, a Windows contrast theme), the colors that your operating system provides will always be observed.
